Music Therapy

Our Music Therapy services begin with a comprehensive evaluation and consultation guided by parent concerns and your child’s individual needs. Our music therapist takes a whole-child approach to understand your child’s strengths, abilities, interests, and areas of need. Through observation, parent interviews, collaboration with other professionals, and therapeutic music-based interactions, we develop individualized goals and recommendations that support your child’s overall growth and development.

We provide motivating and engaging music therapy services using evidence-based approaches to address developmental, communication, social-emotional, cognitive, and motor goals. Music therapy uses the natural and motivating qualities of music, including rhythm, melody, movement, instruments, and songwriting, to create meaningful opportunities for children to learn, participate, communicate, and build new skills. Our experienced music therapist provides individualized, developmentally appropriate services designed around each child’s unique interests and abilities. Sessions are fun, interactive, and designed to help children feel successful while working toward meaningful therapeutic goals.

Our Music Therapy services may support areas such as communication and language development, social interaction, emotional expression and regulation, attention and engagement, cognitive skills, motor development, sensory needs, and participation in daily activities. Music can provide children with a motivating and creative way to practice skills, build confidence, and connect with others. Each session is tailored to your child, incorporating their preferences and interests to create a positive and supportive therapeutic experience.

Gabriel Therapy Group is proud to provide Music Therapy services with Alyssa Salvador, a board-certified music therapist based in Florida. Alyssa holds a Master’s degree in Music Therapy from Florida State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of North Florida. She is also a certified NICU music therapist through the National Institute for Infant & Child Medical Music Therapy, allowing her to support infants and families at the earliest stages of life.

As a parent partner in your child’s therapy, you can expect updates at the end of sessions as well as recommendations and activities that can be incorporated into everyday routines. We believe that collaboration with families and other members of your child’s care team is an important part of supporting meaningful progress and helping your child reach their individual goals.
